My Apple Watch

My latest acquisition is the WATCH Series 1. I have only had it a few days, so I am deep in the learning curve on what it can do, how to use it, and what it does best. So far, I have used it to get quick notifications from my phone, track my calendar, respond to text messages, decline unknown callers, monitor Pokemon Go!, and unlock my Mac Mini. All that is using the built in the apps and features, except for Pokemon. It has shown me that I don’t have enough activity during my day and certainly don’t get enough exercise. I have yet to use PAY, which I do use as often as I can with my iPhone. I am also interested in using it for a remote to my TV.

I feel that is pretty good usage for just out of box 2 days ago. The WATCH is a useful device if you consume a lot of information from your iPhone. It is has it’s limits, but overall for just about anything quick, it’s right there on demand instead of in your pocket, purse, setting on a desk or in another room.

The series 2 is probably the better choice for active people as it has built in GPS and is water proof to 50 meters. The series 1 doesn’t have those features but is just as capable and a bit cheaper.
